Economy chain
Streamlining asset management in a multi-chain network
In a blockchain ecosystem with multiple dapp chains, efficient asset management is crucial. Traditionally, each dapp manages its own token balances, and assets must be bridged across chains. However, this approach creates network sprawl, making it harder to track assets and introducing potential security concerns.
To address this, Chromia has launched the economy chain on mainnet, serving as the root chain for CHR and simplifying asset management for both users and dapps.
Key benefits of the economy chain
Unified CHR management
The economy chain acts as a central hub for CHR, allowing users to hold and transact the token without bridging it to multiple dapp chains. When dapps require CHR payments, users can simply make transactions on the economy chain, submit proof to the dapp, and receive their assets or services without needing separate CHR balances on different chains.
Official bridge support
CHR on the economy chain is 1:1 bridgeable with its EVM equivalents on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain through the official Chromia bridge. Future plans include integrating stablecoins like USDT and USDC, potentially leading to a dedicated stablecoin chain for streamlined cross-dapp payments.
Native fees processing
The economy chain is also the foundation for Chromia’s native fees dapp, which processes CHR payments for container leases and distributes them to network providers. Since it serves as the root chain for CHR, this system keeps payments efficient and on a single chain.
Economy chain on mainnet
The economy chain is now live on mainnet, marking a significant step in Chromia’s road to mainnet. The official bridge supporting CHR is connected, allowing seamless transfers between Chromia, Ethereum, and Binance Smart Chain. This enables dapps to integrate CHR payments more effectively while improving user experience.
