Chromia chains

Chromia's ecosystem is powered by a set of specialized chains, each playing a distinct and critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of decentralized applications (dapps) and the overall network. These chains work together to ensure tamperproof data, efficient asset management, secure identity management, and effective governance across the system. The architecture is designed to maintain decentralization and scalability, supporting complex multi-chain interactions without compromising on performance or security.

Cluster anchoring chain

The cluster anchoring chain ensures the tamperproof nature of the system by anchoring data from all blockchains in the system cluster. It sources block headers, creates blocks, and provides a reference to the state of the system, ensuring network security and integrity. This process plays a crucial role in maintaining decentralization and trust.

System anchoring chain

The system anchoring chain acts as a central repository for validated data from various dapp clusters. It ensures the security and integrity of the entire network by collecting block headers from all cluster anchoring chains, consolidating them, and creating its own blocks. This process anchors the data of the entire ecosystem, ensuring tamperproof and immutable data across the network.

Directory chain

The directory chain is a specialized system chain in the Chromia network, acting as a registry and coordination hub for chains and network participants. It stores metadata about chains, manages identities for dapps, providers, and users, and plays a key role in governance, economic coordination, and cross-chain interoperability.

Economy chain

The economy chain simplifies asset management in the Chromia ecosystem by acting as the central hub for CHR, eliminating the need for bridging across dapp chains. It streamlines CHR transactions, supports official bridges to Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain, and processes native fees for Chromia's infrastructure.

Token chain

The token chain facilitates the creation of new token accounts on Chromia. It handles account creation strategies, token proposals, and minting policies. Users can propose new tokens, connect bridge contracts, and manage minting functionality on the token chain.
