Get Chromia test tokens (tCHR) on Binance Smart Chain testnet

This guide will walk you through obtaining test tokens (tCHR) on the Binance Smart Chain testnet. These tokens can be used for testing purposes when deploying a bridge between the BSC and Chromia.

Step 1: Access the Chromia testnet faucet

To obtain tCHR, visit the faucet address on BscScan.

Select the Contract section, and then click the Write Contract button.

Step 2: Connect your wallet

  1. In the Write Contract section, click the Connect to web3 button.
  2. Choose your wallet provider (e.g., MetaMask, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet).
  3. Follow the prompts to authorize the connection.

Step 3: Add tCHR token to MetaMask

For the token to appear in your MetaMask wallet, use the following contract address for the import:

Step 4: Request tCHR tokens

  1. Once your wallet is connected, click the 1. claim function in the Write Contract section.
  2. Then a click the newly appeared Write button.
  3. Follow the prompts to confirm the claim operation. Note that to claim tCHR tokens you have to pay gas fees with tBNB.

Once the tokens are successfully requested, they should appear in your wallet on the testnet.

You can request tokens from the faucet only once a week.

Usage notes

  • Purpose: tCHR tokens are for testing on the Chromia testnet and have no real-world value.
  • Resetting balance: If you need additional tokens, you can revisit the faucet periodically to request more.
