Vote on a proposal
Voting is a key part of Chromia Governance, allowing citizens to participate in decision-making. Follow the steps below to cast your vote on a proposal.
Prerequisites
Before voting, ensure you meet the following requirements:
- Citizen registration – You must be registered as a citizen via an external authentication method like MetaMask.
- Connected wallet – Use MetaMask or another Ethereum-compatible wallet linked to your account.
- Active voting period – The proposal must be open for voting.
- Eligibility – Your citizen account must meet the required criteria (e.g., not under cooldown).
Step 1: Navigate to the proposals section
- Log in to Chromia Governance using MetaMask or your chosen wallet.
- Open the Proposals section to view a list of active proposals.
Step 2: Select a proposal
Scroll through the list and choose a proposal to vote on. Each proposal displays its status and available voting options.
Step 3: Review the proposal
Click on the proposal to see its details, including the description, voting options, and deadline. Carefully review the information before proceeding.
If prompted, confirm the citizen registration request in your wallet.
Step 4: Choose your vote
Select your preferred voting option (e.g., Approve, Reject, or other choices).
Step 5: Cast your vote
Click Vote to submit your decision. Your vote will be recorded on the blockchain.
Step 6: Confirm submission
A confirmation message will appear once your vote is successfully registered.
Step 7: Wait for the voting period to end
Once the voting period ends, votes are counted, and the proposal is finalized based on the majority decision.
Voting outcomes
After the voting period concludes:
- If approved, the proposal moves forward for execution.
- If rejected, the proposal is discarded.
