Step 1: Account creation
Creating an account on Chromia's Economy Chain is a crucial first step for integrating with the network. An account acts as a unique identifier that enables interaction with decentralized applications on the Chromia blockchain. It is required for executing transactions, holding and managing CHR tokens, and participating in staking and other ecosystem functionalities. For exchange integration, you must create a dedicated account on the Economy Chain. This account will serve as the foundation for all exchange-related operations.
To help you get started, let's explore three different ways to create an account on the Chromia Economy Chain.
Bridging CHR from an EVM-compatible blockchain
- Ensure you have at least 10 CHR in your EVM wallet (e.g., MetaMask).
- Visit the Vault.
- Connect your wallet.
- Follow the steps to bridge 10 CHR from an EVM-compatible chain to the Chromia economy chain.
- Once the bridging process is complete, your Chromia account will be created and activated.
Staking CHR
- Go to the Staking page.
- Connect your wallet.
- Stake minimum of 10 CHR.
- Follow the prompts to complete the staking process.
- After staking, your Chromia account will be created and ready to use.
Paying a fee via internal transfer
- Navigate to the Vault.
- Connect your wallet and retrieve your account address on the Chromia economy chain.
- Use an existing activated account to send at least 10 CHR to this new account address.
- The 10 CHR will be used as a one-time account creation fee, activating the account.
If you do not have access to an existing activated account or require assistance with the account creation process, please contact our technical support team. To ensure a smooth setup, kindly include your public key in the request — it will be used to generate your Chromia account address.
